One of my favorite parts of travel are the moments of connection with strangers. Often just having a camera produces such moments.
One of my favorite examples of this happened in Egypt in 2011. We were visiting the Pyramids when we ran into an Egyptian school group on a field trip. I asked one of the students if I could take his picture.
Sure, he said.
Before we were done exchanging names, his friend popped up and insisted I take his picture too.
The next thing I knew, my wife and I were surrounded by the entire class, all wanting to have their picture taken with us…
What a great moment!
